Cynthia W. Hammer  was born near Baltimore, MD.

In 1979, when Cynthia was 12 years of age, she pulled her youngest brother out of the frozen Severn River adjacent to the Chesapeake Bay. She saved his life. During that same time, she was attacked by nine bullies on a school playground.

These events impacted her tremendously. Iceburg is a novel based on those two events.

The genre is young adult and topics revolve around bullying, over coming adversities, and courage and the testing of faith.

Iceburg marks the first of what Cynthia hopes to be many successful books.  She is currently working on her second novel.
