Think you know everything about Blackbeard the Pirate because you saw him in Pirates of the Caribbean?  Think again.
Barry joins Baylus Brooks, maritime historian who debunks the "fake news" of 296 years that Edward Thache ("Blackbeard") was a bloodthirsty killer.  Brooks' new book, "Quest For Blackbeard" is a detailed account of who Thache was, how and why he became a pirate, and the grisly manner of his death.
Brooks, a lover of history of science, seems to have been dragooned into the study of pirates after exploring colonial history and the "lost colony" of Roanoke.  A BBC documentary on Blackbeard is available HERE
The book is available at online bookstores. HERE
Oh, and if you're thinking about digging for Blackbeard's buried treasure, you might want to reconsider that, too.
During segment two, Barry talks with comedians Mark Anthony Ramirez and Krystal Kamenides about everything from love to Christmas music, the wind on Mars, food and even the survival of the Trump Presidency.

Mark Anthony Ramirez has been a guest on Howard Stern, MTV and Comedy Central. He is a regular on John Fuegelsang's "Tell Me Everything" (Sirius/XM 121) Mark is considered one of comedies fastest rising stars.
Krystal Kamenides is a popular comic appearing on Sirius/XM and BBOX Radio and in shows like "Women of A Certain Age".
They recently embarked on a joint "foodie" adventure chronicled on http://instagram.com/markandkrystallovetoeat
